Pricing

In U.S. healthcare,
you’re paying more.
And getting less.

That’s the U.S. system today. Arbitra gives you another option.

With Arbitra Health, the total cost of treatment in Japan — even including travel and stay — often fits within what you already pay in premiums. Every cost is confirmed before you travel, and Arbitra Health adds no markup.

What membership costs

Two numbers to know

One to become a member. One only if you decide to travel for treatment.

To be a member

$16.58/ mo = $199/ year

Billed as one payment of $199 a year — there is no monthly billing. Renews automatically each year. Cancellation isn’t available during your first year; from your second year, cancel before your renewal date and it takes effect then.

Today, when you join$348

$149 one-time enrollment fee + $199 for your first year

Every year after$199

If you travel to Japan for treatment: $2,500 per case

A $2,500 coordination fee applies per treatment case. It’s charged only when you ask us to coordinate a treatment — never automatically, and never as part of your membership. Hospital costs are agreed with the hospital before you travel, and Arbitra adds no markup. If you never request coordination, you never pay this fee.

•Coordination consultations on up to two topics a month — documents, scheduling, travel and cost
•A coordinator who stays with your case
•Access to our partner hospitals in Japan

Nothing is charged until you confirm at enrollment. The enrollment fee covers identity verification and screening. A 3-month waiting period applies before you can request hospital coordination.

Consultations cover coordination only. Arbitra Health does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or give medical advice — a clinical question is put to the treating hospital, and its answer is passed to you in its own words.

Paid directly by you, not through Arbitra Health

Treatment

Paid straight to the hospital. Arbitra Health never takes the money in, and never marks it up.

Insurance — required

Travel insurance and complication cover (30–90 days after surgery, roughly $200–$500) must be in place before you travel. Your coordinator confirms the coverage required for your case before you book.

Wire transfer fees

International wire fees are your responsibility. Flights and accommodation are booked and paid by you as well.

Add the people you care about

Start with your own membership, then add family whenever you’re ready, from My Page — each person applies and is verified individually. There’s no separate family sign-up. A family member you remove can’t be added back immediately; a waiting period applies.

Each additional adult

$179 /yr

Plus a one-time $99 enrollment fee — less than the $149 you paid to join. In the first year the $179 annual fee is prorated to your renewal date; the $99 is not. Both are charged to the primary member’s card, not the family member’s. If a family member isn’t approved, the prorated annual fee is refunded and the $99 enrollment fee is not.

Your spouse or partner, and children age 18 to 25. Parents and siblings aren’t eligible. No shared-address requirement — but every family member must live in Texas, Florida, or Arizona. Relationship is self-declared; we don’t ask for documents.

Your own rate, once family joins

$179 /yr

Down from $199 — takes effect at your next renewal, once an adult family member is approved. The $20 difference for the rest of your current year is credited against the first family member’s charge, once per household.

What the primary member can see

The contract, the billing, and who is on the plan. Consultation history and medical records stay with the individual member — paying for someone’s membership does not give you access to their case.

Household size

Up to 5 adult family members in addition to the primary member — six people in one household.

Multi-generation family together outdoors

Family plan

Each person joins — and is covered — on their own

What’s at stake
In the U.S. today
With Arbitra Health
Out-of-pocket cost
Beyond preventive care, most of what you use comes out of pocket until you meet a deductible that can run $1,800 to $3,800 a year, depending on the plan.
Presented and agreed before travel. Arbitra Health adds no markup — you pay the actual cost of what you use, plus any exchange-rate difference at the time of payment.
Access to specialists
Average waits of weeks to months for an appointment.
A coordinator arranges the hospital schedule directly.
Surprise billing
Out-of-network charges arrive as unexpected large bills later.
No markup from Arbitra Health. If complications require added treatment, the hospital bills that portion directly.
Balance billing
An out-of-network clinician inside an in-network hospital can bill you for the difference, and it sits outside your out-of-pocket maximum.
One hospital, one agreed price. There is no second party billing you separately for the same admission.
What the plan won’t cover
Services your plan excludes are yours in full — and excluded services do not count toward the out-of-pocket maximum either.
The quote states what is included before you travel, so the exclusions are visible up front rather than after the fact.
Who qualifies
People in the coverage gap are stuck: too much income for Medicaid, too little for private insurance to be affordable.
The same annual membership fee and the same case management fee for everyone. Membership is open to residents of Texas, Florida, and Arizona who are 18 or older.

Exchange rates move. The amount you pay can differ from the amount quoted, and we invoice only that difference — never a markup on top of it.

Deductible range: KFF 2025 Employer Health Benefits Survey (single coverage, $1,886 average) and KFF ACA Marketplace deductible data ($3,786 average, 2026). Appointment wait times: AMN Healthcare, 2025 Survey of Physician Appointment Wait Times (31-day average across 15 major U.S. metro areas; up to 65 days in some cities).

Ready to get started?

You shouldn’t have to think about the cost of care every day. Start with membership, and take that question off your mind.
